Hello, friend and welcome to the brand new Event Prep website! If you have a love for pretty things and detail-filled celebrations then you’re in the right place. I’m so excited to share with you my journey and plenty of behind-the-scene tutorials. I hope that some of my DIY projects, wedding resources, editorial-style shoots and wedding albums will serve as an inspiration for you when you’re planning your next celebration. 

What’s with the name, Event Prep?  For as long as I can remember I’ve had this deep love for creating events. I long for the opportunity to create celebrations where I can bring people together and it’s exciting to create certain atmospheres through details like table settings and backdrops. While planning I think to myself “what’s the inspo (inspiration) for the party and what event prep (preparations) do I need to organize to properly execute it? Through out the years I began to entertain the idea of starting my own little event planning business and Event Prep just made sense; I’ve always loved preppy details and clothing. So there you have it – Event Prep. 

Where it all began..  One of the first parties I can remember planning was a “pillow decorating slumber party.” I spent hours making my to-do lists and saving my lunch money to use at the craft store. I invited some of my elementary school girlfriends over and supplied them each with a brand new pillow and supplies to decorate it with. We spent the night eating too much candy, embellishing our pillows with sequins and taking lots of photos on our disposable cameras. I still get butterflies when I think about how special that party was to me because it felt like I was helping others make memories they would cherish for years to come. Even if the pillows are long gone by now!

This journey as a new small business owner means so much to me because it’s an opportunity for me to share but to also serve. I’m filled with gratitude to have the chance to do what I love. The hard work, long hours and weight on my shoulders is instantly forgotten when I see the expressions of brides & grooms and their families when they are able to sit around the same tables and cherish wonderful times together. 

Last but not least, a huge thank you to the family and friends who have always supported me along the way. I would never have the confidence to go after my dreams if it wasn’t for your love and encouragement. I will be forever grateful that God has brought so much love into my life.
