Festive Black & White Holiday Party
As soon as December rolls around I know it’s time to get festive and I do so in the only way I know how – with lots of glam details, great drinks, and a dessert display so sweet you’ll forget calories event exist. When it comes to holiday décor, especially for Christmas, I believe more is much merrier. Faux fur ribbon, glittery white ornaments and a decked out oversized archway – yes, please! I fell head over (leopard) heels for how my black and white themed décor came together to set the scene for a fun holiday party.
One of the best presents I’ve received this year? Having this very party published on Pizzazzerie ! Courtney is one of my favorite party planning experts and definitely knows how to entertain in style. I’m not the only one who thinks so either, her current book is on the Hot 100 list on Amazon and it was truly an honor to have her feature my work. The tree was filled with an array of ornaments that I’ve collected over the years ranging from a white swan with a gold crown to large starbursts that stuck out from the side of the trees. The glistening deer topper set the tone for all of the ornaments below and the striped ribbon tucked in the branches were a simple but elegant touch to tie everything together.
Black, white and gold plaid plates were featured on the Kate Spade inspired tablescape and our gold glitter charger plates really made for a memorable place setting. Laser-cut acrylic place cards sat atop black linen napkins which were adorned with perfect bow napkin rings and they contrasted beautifully with the centerpiece made up of greenery and white florals.
To pull everything together I incorporated black Lucite chairs, which also helped to add a modern touch. Believe me, if it was acceptable to leave this whimsical table up all year long, I would!
Centered in our dessert display was the most darling Rudolph cake, complete with a shiny red nose! An alluring arrangement of sugar cookies were displayed on top of marble cake stands and included everything from pink “coffee mugs” to an array of Christmas themed “sweaters.”
To add a fun twist to your typical dessert bar – add shot glasses of milk or Kahlua for your guests to pair with their favorite sweet treats. A white sequin table linen, fur lined table runner, and an assortment of bows and bells really took this display to a whole new level of holiday glam!”
