Chicas De Mayo – Inspiration for the Perfect Fiesta Bridal Shower or Soiree!
There are few things I love more than a dining al fresco and enjoying a few cocktails with your besties. Here in the Midwest, Cinco De Mayo seems to always signal the break of wintery weather, and believe me, it’s cause for celebration!
Colorful florals and a beautiful tablescape helped to create a bridal shower that was both festive and elegant. Traditional Mexican Talavera Tiles served as the main source of inspiration for the design of this party and similar prints were incorporated throughout the stationary suite, photo booth and drool worthy dessert display.
Custom painted maracas awaited each guest at the place setting on the table which also featured woven banana bark place mats, letter pressed menus and of course, a margarita glass. The stunning print of the table linen was a gorgeous contrast against the monochromatic look of each of our three floral centerpieces.
Chips, salsa, margaritas, repeat. That was no joke when it came to the Build-Your-Own Nacho Bar that we created with a custom display board and pink cactus margarita glasses. When styling a party, I always love to display edibles in a fun and memorable way because we all know the way to most people’s hearts is their stomach! Between the nacho station, tacos served in DIY tassel trays, churros, sugar cookies and key lime cake, our guests were treated to a spread that was perfect for this fiesta. Pink Senorita specialty cocktails were served along with mini Patron tequila bottles as party favors.
After a few margaritas our guests were definitely having fun shaking their maracas and taking advantage of our photo booth area. Custom wood cacti (one which featured some Justin Timberlake lyrics!) were painted to match the colors of our party and sat in front of a fuchsia pink backdrop linen with a white Paper Papel banner on top.
A celebration or bridal shower paired with a holiday doesn’t have to be tacky! With some refined details and creative use of the theme you can create a look that is both festive and elegant. We hope this Chicas-De-Mayo is leaving you full of inspiration!
